Growing increasingly interested in software engineering, she seeks opportunities to kickstart her career in the EU. With many of our core staff hailing from the tech industry, we believe Daaem is a talented engineer who simply needs to escape Qatar to thrive.

Eden House: A Shelter Under Siege

By August 2024, Eden House, a shelter started by Trans rescue, housed three Egyptians alongside 18 recent arrivals from Uganda and several Kenyans. However, the haven fell victim to an attack by the local “chief” and the police. We split our passengers for their safety; our house manager took the Kenyans and Ugandans, while our director escorted the Egyptians to Tanzania.

In Tanzania, the Egyptians deliberated on their final destination. After careful consideration, they selected Lebanon—a region perceived as relatively LGBT-accepting, with opportunities for relocation to France or Canada. We arranged for their flight to Lebanon, where they initially lived frugally but securely, with our financial support. However, their safety and security were jeopardized by the recent Israeli invasion of Lebanon, prompting us to urgently assist them in finding temporary refuge.
