Being Trans Shouldn’t Be a Death Sentence

STARTS WITH

In over 70 countries, being LGBTQ+ can mean imprisonment, torture—or even death. Right now, queer and trans people are being hunted by their governments, rejected by their families, and left with nowhere safe to go.

At Trans Rescue, we help them escape. We’re a volunteer-run organization that’s helped more than 165 people flee life-threatening situations from 28 of the world’s most dangerous countries.

Right Now, We Need Urgent Help

We’ve had to close new cases—not because the need isn’t there, but because we don’t have the funds. These are just some of the people waiting for rescue right now:

22 Trans Women in Hiding — Bobbi in Uganda

Bobbi shares a shelter with 22 trans women, hiding from police in Uganda. If even one is seen outside, the whole shelter could be raided. Half are HIV positive, but clinics refuse them medicine “because it’s for gays.”

We can move them to safety, starting with 11. But we need the funds to act.

Afghan and Hunted — Jay and Allen’s Race Isn’t Over

Jay and Allen escaped the Taliban, but now Pakistan is deporting Afghan refugees back to danger. They’ve survived one horror already. If they’re forced back, they may not survive another.

We know how to get them to safety, but we need urgent funding to move.

Charlie Escaped Iran, But Is Still in the Crosshairs

Charlie fled Iran after his family threatened to kill him for being gay. But now he’s stuck in another unsafe country: no rights, no protection, and his family can cross the border. He’s alive, but only barely.

We have a long-term plan, but we can’t fund it alone.

These aren’t anonymous statistics. They’re real people. We know where they are. We know how to get them out.

We just need your help to do it.

How Your Donation Helps

Every donation goes directly to operations: flights, shelter, documents, food, and safe passage.

  • $20 covers one night in hiding.
  • $50 pays for emergency hormones or medical care.
  • $100 gets someone to a safe house.
  • $500 provides temporary housing in a secure location.
  • While every case is unique, the average full extraction—passport, visa, transport, and shelter—can cost $2,500.

Every dollar makes a difference.
