Every number on this page represents a real person who reached greater safety.
Trans Rescue exists to help transgender, intersex, and queer people escape life-threatening danger and move toward safer futures.
We work globally, often in environments where being LGBTQ+ can mean imprisonment, violence, persecution, or death.

70+ Countries
Global Reach
We work across a wide range of countries — from places where being LGBTQ+ is criminalized to countries of new concern where safety is rapidly deteriorating.
100% Volunteer-Run
Global Volunteer Network
Trans Rescue is powered almost entirely by volunteers across multiple countries and disciplines, including operations, legal support, fundraising, communications, mental health support, logistics, and research.
What Impact Looks Like
Impact is not only measured by relocations.
Sometimes impact means:
- helping someone escape immediate violence
- creating a safe communication channel
- helping someone safely plan an exit route
- guiding someone through immigration systems
- helping someone avoid dangerous misinformation
- connecting someone to support before crisis escalates
For many people, access to reliable information and a trusted support network can be life-changing.
How We Help
Our work includes:
- Emergency Rapid Response support
- Direct relocation coordination
- Secure communication guidance
- Office Hours and planning support
- Citizenship consults
- Resource development for self-relocation
- Volunteer-based support networks
- Partnerships and coordination across borders
We do not operate outside the law.
We do not forge documents.
We coordinate legal, safer pathways to safety.
The Reality Of This Work
Many of the people who contact us are in urgent, high-risk situations.
Some are:
- fleeing state persecution
- escaping violent family control
- at risk of imprisonment
- homeless after being outed
- trapped in countries where LGBTQ+ identity is criminalized
Others are trying to leave countries where conditions are worsening before they become trapped.
Not every situation results in relocation.
Not every request can be supported immediately.
But every request is treated seriously, and every effort is made to help people move toward greater safety.
A Global Community Effort
This work is possible because of:
- volunteers
- donors
- partner organisations
- community members
- local allies
- people willing to act when others cannot
Trans Rescue is not built by institutions alone.
It is built by people choosing to help other people survive.
Support The Work
Every donation, volunteer hour, partnership, and fundraiser helps more people reach safety.
